| (in English) | Accurate detection of the metastatic brain tumors is important for the decision for making treatment course of patients. Therefore, we have been developing a computer-aided diagnosis scheme for the detection of metastatic brain tumors. In our previous study, we used a template matching technique with simulated solid and ring templates. In this paper, we improved our template matching technique by use of true positive and false positive templates obtained from clinical images. Our improved method was applied to 13 cases with 97 brain metastases. Sensitivity for detecting metastatic brain tumors was 80.4% with 9.8 false positives per patient. The proposed method would be useful for the detection of metastatic brain tumors in MR images. | |
