Glaucoma risk estimation based on automated measurement of cup-to-disc ratio and rim-to-disc ratio on retinal fundus images

(in English) The ratio of the maximum vertical diameters of cup and disc, and the ratio of minimum neuroretinal rim and diameter of the disc are some observations for glaucoma diagnosis. However, there are inter-reader variations among ophthalmologists in interpretation. Therefore, the aim to this study was to develop a computerized algorithm for quantitative measurement of glaucomatous indices, and our proposed method employed a profile of optic disc for estimation of cup borders. The estimated cup-to-disc ratio and the rim-to-disc ratio are compared with measurement data by ophthalmologists.
