The aim of this study was to explore high school students’ internet usage via mobile phones. Participants were 1,563 high school students whose sex and grade were identifiable on the internet. Findings showed that boys used weblogs more than girls, and girls used bulletin boards more than boys. Although girls contributed more than boys, boys responded to articles or tracked them more than girls. Boys contributed more than girls at around 6 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., while girls contributed more than boys from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Girls used more letters in messages than boys. There were more letters in messages from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. compared with other time periods. |
