Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper describes a novel volume visualization for three-dimensional computer aided diagnosis (CAD). In diagnosis for lung cancers, conventional CAD systems are difficult to recognize a Ground Glass Opacity (GGO) because it may be seen as slight levels change of intensity distribution. Also, static parameter settings can recognize only a uniquely determined features of GGO. We propose a volumetric feature space on GGO parameters and design an interface that makes possible of exploring the images interactively and comprehensively in this space. Our system supports three-dimensional exploration of lung nodules, which is applicable for a variety of lung cancers including GGO.
