In this paper, we aim to discuss the overlay technology for the large-scale OpenFlow network on existing networks like JGN-X and so on. To overlay OpenFlow network on existing networks, LLDP packets should need to transparent through the legacy network. In addition, it is necessary to directly connect between OpenFlow switches (OFSes) without regard to physically and logically links because OpenFlow Controller (OFC) correctly detects the OFS links. The reason is that the detection of the links between OFSes depend on the aging time of FDB on Layer2 switch (OFS sends broadcast packet from the configured OpenFlow function after receiving Packet-out from OFC via Secure-Channel). We think it is suitable to apply the tunnel-technology to overlay OpenFlow network. We would like to discuss about some tunnel technologies, (1)IEEE802.1ad,(2)IEEE802.1ah,(3)EoMPLS,(4)VPLS. |
