A Study of the Validity of FDTD Analysis Taking into Account a Moving Dielectric Boundary

(in English) This paper presents a study of the FDTD simulation for detecting
movement of dielectric substances. First, an algorithm for the FDTD
method, which can take into account moving dielectric substances by
changing the permittivity of grids in keeping with the speed of a
dielectric boundary, was suggested. Next, the validity of the suggested
algorithm was discussed by comparing the frequency shift rates obtained
by the FDTD simulations using the algorithm with those obtained by the
theoretical equation following an electromagnetic theory.
Finally, the effect of a movement of
dielectric substance on the electromagnetic waves propagation around
was discussed by changing the direction of dielectric substance's
movement. In conclusion, the possibility of detecting the moving
direction and the position of the dielectric substance was shown by
using the suggested FDTD simulation.
