DDoS Attack Detection and Avoidance Mechanism Using Relay Priority for MANET

(in English) DDoS attack is becoming a serious problem in mobile ad hoc networks. In the attack, widely distributed malicious nodes flood packets into the network, and exhaust resources of the network such as bandwidth, computing power, etc. As concerns this, some defence methods such as confirmation-based, traffic analysis-based methods are proposed to detect the malicious nodes. However, the conventional defence methods may cause delay increase and nodes’ load increase. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a novel defence method against the DDoS attack which detects malicious nodes using relay priority based on time interval of route requests. The performance and the effectiveness of the proposed method are shown by computer simulation.
