Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We propose a method of using satellite images of different resolutions for analysis of damaged areas of the large scale earthquake, such as the Great East Japan Earthquake. First, we apply the region extraction method and the edge extraction method to low resolutions satellite images, and we extract rubble areas and flooded areas to obtain the rough information of the damaged areas. Then, we apply the similar processing method to high resolutions satellite images, and we extract rubble areas and flooded areas on the road sections for searching the passable roads. Our proposed method enables the analysis of rough and detailed information of damaged areas by using low and high resolutions satellite images.
