(in English) To realize next-generation ultra high-speed mobile communication system, we study on using high carrier frequencies above 5GHz with broad bandwidth. In the use of high carrier frequencies, it is difficult to build the same cell sizes with conventional cellular systems, because of high path loss. In this paper, locating Amplify-and-Forward-type relays (Repeaters) around the base station to enlarging cell sizes is considered. For each desired cell radius, we calculate the communication radiuses and the number of repeaters depending on carrier frequencies. The calculated results show that the number of repeaters increases rapidly with high frequencies. In case of limiting communication radiuses of repeaters, the usable frequency range is also shown. The system cost included cost of repeaters and cost of base station, system throughput is also evaluated. While varying cost rate of repeater and base station, the relationships of minimum system cost and the cell radiuses, the carrier frequencies are presented.
