In order to digitize the current signal, which flows through an inductor and changes a large amount depending on the loading condition, inside of switching converters, a current-mode ADC has been developed. The pipeline architecture was used in the previous work, however, the area and the power consumption were large. Because low-power characteristics are required for being applied to switching converters, cyclic architecture has been introduced in this paper. The ADC was fabricated by using 0.18-um CMOS devices. As s result 7bit and 6bit of ENOBs were obtained with 10MHz and 20MHz clock frequencies, respectively, from a 1.5V supply voltage. |
