Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We demonstrated infrared wave generation exceeding 200 THz bandwidth through plasma induced in ambient air with two-color ($\omega$-2$\omega$) optical excitation using sub-10-fs, 200-300 $\mu$J pulses. We detected the infrared pulse from 0.1 to 8THz with time-domain measurement, indicating that the wave is coherent. Above 30 THz we observed it with frequency-domain measurement by a combination of a monochromator and an HgCdTe detector. We also measured the dependence of the infrared wave spectrum on the input pulse profile and found that the obtained spectral range depends not only on input pulse’s duration but also on SHG’s.
