Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Ultra-wideband (UWB) radar with high range-resolution has attracted mush attention for use in motor vehicle. However, the received echo of UWB radar suffers from heavy clutter various obstacles such as buildings. Especially, small target echoes such as pedestrians and two-wheeler are considerably smaller than vehicles and clutter, which makes it difficult to detect target. However, Even if the Doppler can be estimated from the trajectory echo, the small target can be detected. In this paper, pedestrian and two-wheeler detection using UWB radar is empirical studied, and the usefulness is confirmed by conducting the measurement.
