Time domain analysis of ultra high speed modulation by using a Resonant Tunneling Diode integrated with an antenna

(in English) Resonant tunneling diode (RTD) is expected to perform terahertz applications because of its negative
differential conductance operating up to terahertz region. Specially for wireless communications and imaging, it is
considered that not only characteristics of a oscillation but also a modulation using RTD is important in the future.
On the other hands, several operation modes could occur due to peripheral circuit elements on RTD oscillator.
Because characteristics of operating modes may decide ultimate modulation properties, it is necessary that control
methods and characteristics of several operation modes is clarified. Therefore, we analyzed large signal time domain
analysis for a RTD integrated with an antenna designed in our studies to show each operation mode characteristics
and modulation characteristics for peripheral circuits.
