Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study aims to clarify the impact of electromagnetic interference (EMI) from mobile phones on medical devices. The employed radio sources are dipole antennas and a mobile phone that transmits signals based on 3GPP Releases 8, 6, and 99, which focuses on high-speed mobile radio access technology. The peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmission signal to clarify the impact of the EMI is evaluated to determine the radio parameter priority. The EMI is tested with respect to 32 different models of medical devices that are typically used in hospitals. The test results show that the maximum interference distance is 80 cm when the transmission power of the radio sources is the nominal maximum; however, the distance decreases to 8 cm when the transmission power is limited to 10 mW.
