Multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) techniques have been started to introduce into cellular systems for increasing both cell capacity and user throughput. It is known that performance of a linear MU-MIMO system with minimum mean square error (MMSE) method should be significantly degraded under correlated channel conditions. Although non-linear MU-MIMO techniques are solutions to improve the system performance in those situations, it has a problem of large computational complexity. In this paper, we show our 8×8 MU-MIMO experimental system with block diagonalization vector perturbation (BD-VP) algorithm as well as its functional test results. In order to implement the algorithm on a commercially available hardware platform and to achieve real-time field test, we applied several techniques to reduce the computational complexity of the algorithm. |
