Wavelength conversion using second-order nonlinearity in poled silica fibers

(in English) Pursuing the possibilities of the all-fiber wavelength conversion laser, we have studied the silica fiber devices which have second-order nonlinearity created by thermal poling. Firstly we have performed thermal poling and confirmed the occurrence of the second order nonlinearity by the second-harmonic generation (SHG). Then, we have made periodically depoling to implement the quasi-phase-matched SHG and demonstrated that the fine tuning of SHG wavelength by stretching the period length is available. Finally, we have succeeded in generating the sum-frequency light using two different wavelength fiber lasers.
