A bias is well known on human gaze perception that depends on the situation (e.g. looker’s head direction, and looker’s iris-sclera rate). However, human perception is still unknown for the perceived gaze direction under a typical environment, like in a situation with an existing visible object. In this study, we investigated the effect experimentally with the gaze judgment task by using 3D-CG face model and an object was presented as existing in the subject’s view. The degree of physical gaze-direction and the position of an object were limited to those of “direct-gaze” position. The result showed that there is no obvious influence of an object’s existence or its position, for the judgment of whether the facing person was looking “directly at me” or not. |
