Sound Reproduction for Source Localization Using Two-Channel Recording and Reproduction System at the Same Points Takamasa Ota, Kenji Furihata (Shinshu Univ.) EA2011-78 |

Is the reproduction of sound with high-fidelity possible to how degree of accuracy practically using a two-channel recording and reproduction system at the same points? The key technologies are as follows: (1) a reconstructing method (the two-channel recording and reproduction system at the same points) the recorded sound field wave fronts within the listening space, and (2) a sound insulating material (polyurethane: length 0.7m × width 0.09m × height 0.43m) without producing crosstalk. In this paper, it is experimentally discussed whether the two technologies are effective using the sound sources of rapid swept sinewave with each 1/3 octave band width. From the results, it can be found that the percentages of the sound localization and distance perspective increase about 10%~20% on the main direction of ±60° and the distance of 3m at the center frequencies f_c= 4kHz and 8kHz with the insulating material. |
