With the progress of high-density integration technology and increasing operation frequency, a variety of power and signal integrity (PI/SI) problems have become serious and important for the electronic design. In the electronic design, a variety of circuit simulators and electromagnetic simulators heve been widely used. However, in order to analyze the latest circuit, those simulators require a large amount of computational cost. Therefore, fast simulation method is storongly demanded. In late years, the aleternating-direction-explicit finite difference time domain (ADE-FDTD) method has been proposed for the efficient electromagnetic simulation. This method is not bounded by the CFL condition, that is to say, the time step size can be larger than that of the conventional FDTD method. As a result, this method is able to simulate faster than the conventional method. Nevertheless, it is necessary for this method to be accerelated more in case of the large scale ploblem. In this report, we propose the GPGPU-based massively parallel ADE-FDTD method for the fast electromagnetic field simulation. First, the ADE-FDTD method is described briefly. Next, GPGPU-based massively parallel ADE-FDTD method is shown. Finally, it is confirmed that proposed method is efficient for large problems. |
