Assessment of Variability in Target Scattering Mechanism Contribution in SAR Polarimetric Decomposition

(in English) In the present study, full polarimetric L-band ALOS PALSAR cata covering parts of Nagaur distric in Rajasthan, has been used to decompose images using RAT and PolSARpro software.Different decomposition techniques like Freeman Durden, Eigen value(eigen vector)and Moriyama decompositions have been considered for this study. The study area is a desertic terrain comprising of agricultural land, with partly scattered waste lands covering parts of Nagaur district. With the help of ERDAS Imagine software, training windows were marked and signatures of four land use classes were extracted based on target detection in target decomposition theorems. Contingency matrix and class separability were evaluated, along with analysis of variability in target scattering mechanism in each case of the decomposed images. Further, accuracy assessment of decomposition techniques was done for each land use class.
