The novel compact, low cost and high gain dish antenna design was constructed to be applied for C-bands microwave data transmission, i.e. for downlink 3.7-4.2 GHz and for uplink 5.925-6.425 GHz. The designed dish antenna was verified through both the numerical and experimental investigations. The finite element method algorithm HFSS was utilized to obtain the optimized antenna numerical model. The manufactured dish antenna is highly possible to be mass produced due to its simplest and easiest fabrication process. The antenna has relatively high and constant practical gain which in average is approximately 14 dB in the frequency interval of 3.7 GHz 7 GHz. The numerical impedance bandwidth that the antenna can provide is approximately 5 GHz however it is experimentally only about 1.8 GHz. |
