Hitomi Okamoto, Nobuhiko Mukai (Tokyo City Univ.) ET2011-48
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we report a study on improvement of learning effect for an IKEBANA simulator. One of the improvements is the reduce of discontinuity of the force generated by a haptic device. Another is the addition of shadowing and stereo vision in order to improve the distance sense between flowers and a pinholder. Furthermore, the simulator presents a guideline for beginners of ikebana so that they can learn ikebana skills by themselves. Finally, the simulator feedbacks the difference between the training result and a standard example to the user for the improvement of learning effect. According to the user’s evaluations, the distance sense between flowers and a pinholder has been greatly improved. The presence of the guideline and the training result also have good evaluations.
