Uncertainty of Radiation Efficiency Measurement Based on Wheeler Method Using Two Novel Estimations for Reflection Coefficients

(in English) Several mesurement techniques using $180^\circ$ 3dB hybrid coupler or power divider were proposed to reduce the uncertainty of measurement of the reflection coefficients. We have proposed how to use sliding shorts as reference standards in these measurement techniques to measure arbitrary reflection coefficients. In addition, these proposed techniques are applied to the measurement of the radiation efficiency based on the Wheeler method for the small antenna, and it is experimentally confirmed that the uncertainties are reduced. On the other hand, it would appear that the uncertainty can be reduced by inserting an attenuator between vector network analyzer and the antenna to make the reflection coefficient smaller than 1. In this report, we discuss the differences of uncertainty of radiation efficiency of the monopole antenna by our proposed techniques.
