Design method of arbitral excitation coefficients in an unequally spaced collinear array antenna

(in English) Excitations for array elements of a linear array can be simplified by employing a collinear feed. Previously, excitation amplitudes were designed by varying patch widths of array elements. Some trials of designing excitation phase were made by changing the connecting wire length of patch elements. In this paper, authors are trying to establish a design method for achieving arbitral excitation coefficients on a collinear feed array. Main design parameters for excitation amplitude and phase are the patch width and the connecting wire length, respectively. In order to expand the design capability for excitation phase, an unequally spaced array configuration is employed. In order to show the adequateness of proposed design method, a collinear array antenna achieving a shaped beam is designed. Radiation characteristics, near field distributions and array excitation conditions are estimated with an electromagnetic simulator. Through good agreements of the achieved and the objective shaped beam patterns, adequateness of design method is ensured.
