A study on a trouble detection method based on the number of system messages from nodes
Hironori Kurokawa, Youichi Yamada, Katsuhiro Sebayashi (NTT COMWARE) IN2011-77
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The large scale of the network according to becoming it, the number and the kinds of the message increase. As a result, operators can’t either watch or analyze those messages enough. In order to detect the troubles of the nodes in place of operators, prior arts need to collect performance information from nodes constantly. As a solution of the issue, this paper proposes a trouble detection method based on the number of system messages such as SNMP and Syslog messages from nodes without any effect on operators and nodes. Furthermore, we show the applicability of this method through an experimental tool.
