Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The number of wireless communication systems and terminals using ISM band are increasing every year and the use is also spreading over wide range. As a consequence, there are increasing problems of interference between different types of wireless communication terminals co-existing in small areas, resulting in drops in communication performance. We experimentally investigated an environment in which IEEE802.15.4 coexists with IEEE802.11. We confirmed that significant interference can occur in a co-existence environment and clarified three different regimes of behavior. Moreover, with the aim of avoiding interference between IEEE 802.11 and IEEE 802.15.4, we proposed a method for an IEEE 802.11 transmitter to detect interference with an IEEE 802.15.4 transmitter, and experimentally demonstrated the effectiveness of this method.
