A Study on Various TCPs Transmission Performance on WINDS Regenerative Communication Link

(in English) Wideband InterNetworking Engineering Test and Demonstration Satellite (WINDS) can communicate with 155Mbps or less using the regenerative communication mode. However, throughput is limited at the TCP communication because of a long propagation delay. Besides, WINDS communication system is influenced easily by rain attenuation because of using Ka-band. For this, TCP communication is adversely affected further. The use of the TCP congestion control that there is a tolerance in the long delay and low quality line is advocated.
In this paper, various TCPs transmission performance was reported when the line deteriorates. And it reported on the effect of line quality improvement by WINDS regenerative transmission rate change.
