Novel configuration of FIR filters adapted by the decision-directed LMS algorithm in digital coherent optical receivers

(in English) We propose a novel configuration of finite-impulse-response (FIR) filters adapted by the decision-directed least-mean-square (DD-LMS) algorithm in digital coherent optical receivers, which enables stable operation under fast carrier-phase fluctuations. Computer simulations show that our scheme is more tolerant to phase noise and the frequency offset compared to the conventional scheme. Such theoretical predictions are also validated experimentally.
