It is difficult to obtain high quality single crystal high-Tc superconductor Bi_{2}Sr_{2}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{10+δ}(Bi-2223). In this research, we investigate the growth condition for obtaining high quality Bi-2223 single crystal by TSFZ method (Traveling Solvent Floating-Zone method). First, we adopted exceedingly slow growth rate of 0.03mm/h, because of an insufficient supersaturation. Second, we adopted a mixed gas flow of O2 10% and Ar 90%. By these methods, almost single-phase Bi-2223 crystals have been grown from an early growth stage. |
