Progress of wavelength conversion devices based on compound semiconductor waveguides

(in English) AlGaAs waveguiding devices for wavelength conversion in the 1.55~$\mu$m region will be reported. We have fabricated high-quality periodically-inverted AlGaAs waveguides using low-temperature MBE regrowth technique, and realized record-high normalized conversion efficiency of 970~%/W$\cdot$cm$^{2}$ in quasi-phase-matched (QPM) second-harmonic generation. We have achieved birefringent phase matching in high-index-contrast (HIC) thin AlGaAs waveguides for the first time. We have proposed a novel efficient device based on $\bar{4}$-QPM and modal phase matching in folded HIC AlGaAs waveguide.
