Passive bistatic radar utilizing broadcasting signals has a disadvantage in comparison with monostatic radars, because broadcasting signals are radiated by an omnidirectional antenna and transmitting gain becomes low. Therefore scattering signals from target become considerably weaker and buried in strong clutters. This makes it difficult to estimate direction of these targets. A solution for this problem is to calculate 2-Dimensional (Time-Frequency) cross correlation for each element of scattering array antenna with direct signal earlier, and separate moving targets from static clutters. Authors have made an experiment to verify the performance of this solution. |
