Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, digital information on markets, weather, disaster and so on is needed even in maritime. Then Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) established the technical committee for ``maritime wireless ad-hoc network technology for efficient frequency use,'' using digitized 27MHz/40MHz bands marine radio. For this environment, in this paper, we propose a flooding scheme called ``DISCOUNT (DIStance and COUNTer) with Short Jitter'' to disseminate digital messages from a land base station to offshore vessels within as short delay as possible, and evaluate DISCOUNT-SJ as well as related schemes, say DISCOUNT and DISCOUNT-RS using simulation. Simulation results show that DISCOUNT-SJ suppress overhead and delay with delivery ratio high compared with DISCOUNT and DISCOUNT-RS.
