Reliability of the Alternative Stimulus Impairment Scale in Evaluating Low Noise Images
Takayuki Aoshima, Naoya Wada, Seiichiro Hangai (TUS) IMQ2011-2
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As one of subjective evaluation methods for image quality, DSIS (Double Stimulus Impairment Scale) is well known and widely used. In the method, however, original image is memorized and the comparison between memorized and degraded image is undertaken to derive MOS (Mean Opinion Score). This affects the reliability of the score in case of slight degradation images or low noise images. For the purpose of removing the ambiguity caused by human visual system, we have proposed ASIS(Alternative Stimulus Impairment Scale) in which a pair of images alternatively presented at same position in high speed rate. In this paper, we will show the reliability of ASIS based on low noise images.
