In this paper, the absorption properties of pyramidal shaped EM-wave absorber produced by roof-tile smoking process are discussed. In the smoking process, the carbon-coated layer having good electrical conductivity is formed on a dry-shaping pyramid surface made of roof tile clay. It has a superior long-term stability similar to that of roof tile and thermal stability against radiation heating. In this study, the absorption characteristics of the smoked roof-tile pyramidal EM absorbers were measured at microwave and millimeter-wave regions. Absorption characteristics depend on the surface resistance of pyramidal absorber. The relationship between EM-wave absorption and surface conductivity at millimeter-wave region are discussed. Next, absorption characteristics are calculated by FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) method. |
