A Study on Spectrum Sharing between Systems Using 3D Area Model -- Improvement of Evaluation Method and Comparison with a Method Based on 2DArea Model --

(in English) In this paper, we propose a simulation method for system level evaluation based on 3-dimensional area model when an macro cellular system (MCS) and small-scale wireless systems (SWSs) share the same frequency band. The proposed method is based on a conventional method, where applied models are determined based on path conditions (Line-of-Site or Non-Line-of-Site) and location information of stations (indoor/outdoor and floor in buildings). To enable more realistic estimation of propagation losses, the proposed method further considers shielding effects of neighboring buildings and a pathloss model for the case where antenna heights at both the transmitter and the receiver are lower than the average height of surrounding buildings. Using proposed method, we evaluate distribution of signal to interference and noise ratio when the MCS and the SWS operate in both stand-alone and sharing conditions. The results are compared with those evaluated by a conventional method based on 2-dimensional area model. Moreover, we also show throughputs achieved by the MCS and the SWS.
