ICA(Independent Component Analysis) is a statistical method to blindly separate mixed signals. Application of ICA to radio monitoring can provide an advantage that there is no need of primitive information such as antenna pattern or replica signals. The drawback is that it requires more sensors than incoming signals. Tapped Delay Line (TDL)-ICA is capable of dealing with more signals than sensors. However, the assumption that the incoming signals are CW, does not hold when the incoming signals are modulated ones.
This paper evaluates the separation performance for amplitude modulated signals (AM), and the result shows that the separation performance improve as the number of tap becomes larger up to some point, and then, after reaching the ceiling, it starts to deteriorate. |
