In this report, IEEE 802.11b/g signal detection through overlapped FFT is investigated. It has been investigated that the variance of the noise is reduced by overlapping FFT frames and the probability of false alarm is improved. This report focuses on the relationship between the overlap ratio and the probability of detection in the energy detection of IEEE 802.11b/g signals. As a result, it is clarified that the probability of detection depends on the number of observed samples. Moreover, if the variations of the symbol waveforms are small such as the IEEE 802.11b 1Mbps mode, the probability of detection may reduce with a certain overlap ratio. |
