[Encouragement Talk] Neighbourhood-Traffic Adaptive Load Balancing Method in Ad Hoc Networks

(in English) In ad hoc networks, dynamic changes of the network topology caused by
the terminals' mobility may increase the traffic load on a certain
terminal or in a certain location. As concerns this problem, some traffic-based routing mechanisms to balance the load have been proposed. However, it is hard to adapt them to the environment where the traffic changes in a short period. Furthermore, these conventional methods do not consider the load on the neighbouring terminals of the transmission route. In order to achieve efficient load balancing in ad hoc networks, this paper proposes a load balancing method based on neighbouring terminals' traffic. The proposed method controls the transmission rate depending on the neighbouring terminals' load and the transmission route. The performance and the efficiency of the proposed method is also clarified
by computer simulation.
