Hole transport characteristics and air-stability in bis(alkylthiophene)-thienothiophene derivatives

(in English) Hole-transport characteristics and its air-stability were investigated in bis(alkyl-thiophene)thieno-thiophenes (Cn-BTTTs) as a function of alkyl-chain length. High performance hole-transport characteristics were found in C6- and C8-BTTTs. Besides these, air-stable hole-transports were observed in C8- and C12-BTTTs. AFM topographs revealed the alkyl length depended film morphologies. The detail of the film morphology is well explained about the transport performance and the air-stability of hole-transport in Cn-BTTT films. The change in morphology as well as the melting temperature will cause to modulate the stability and transport characteristics.
