Effect of Pre-processing and Sampling Sizes on Performance of Neural Networks for Detection of Abnormal Positions from X-ray Images of Chest

(in English) We constructed systems with neural networks for detection of abnormal positions from X-ray images of chest and investigated the effect of pre-processing and sampling sizes on performance of the systems.
We used one-dimensional numeric sequences which were selected from four regions in a lung area of the images for input patterns into the neural networks.
From the results, the neural networks correctly detected abnormal positions in the regions of chest X-ray images by using input patterns without FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) although the networks converged for both input patterns with and without FFT.
In addition, we found that the minimum width of sampling lines for the system to detect the abnormal area was 1 pixel (160$\mu$m).
Therefore, we suggested conditions for detection of abnormal areas from X-ray images of chest by using our system.
