Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Opportunistic spectrum access is a potential solution to improve wireless spectrum utilization where secondary users can occupy primary users spectrum. We investigates the impact of secondary users transmission using multiple data rates in opportunistic multi-hop cognitive radio ad hoc networks where secondary users are only allowed to transmit opportunistically during primary users idle duration. Simulation study using QualNet simulator shows that there exists an optimal data rate depending on the primary user activity. Based on the simulation results, this paper also proposed a rate adaption scheme that aims to find the optimal data rate with primary user activity consideration.
