Relation of Subthreshold Resonance Oscillation and Calcium Activated K+ Channel

(in English) Subthreshold resonance oscillations, observed in many excitatory/inhibitory neurons, have been suggested to play an important role in behavioral or perceptual states in animals. In order to clarify the contribution of these rhythmic oscillations to the short-term memory and the working memory, it is necessary to understand those oscillatory features. Various voltage-dependent channels are thought to be involved in the generation of these oscillations, such as slow non-inactivating potassium channels, and hyperpolarization-activated potassium channels. It is also suggested that calcium-dependent potassium channels have the same properties with them. By linearizing their HH-like channel dynamics around the resting voltage and current, the neuron model can be given by a familiar RLC electrical circuit. Computer simulations are made to clear how calcium-dependent potassium channels have contribution in generation of such subthreshold resonance oscillations.
