| (in English) | Over provisioning is effective to improve the throughput performance of bursty traffic, but in terms of the operational cost of the network it is essential to increase the network utilization. To cope with this conflict, in this report, we propose a "transmission waiting" method, which makes non-prioritized traffic wait at routers when the link capacity is full. In some case delaying non-prioritized will improve the performance of the prioritized traffic as well as the network utilization. We investigated the variation of the link bandwidth available for non-prioritized class by simulation experiments, which indicated that our proposal can be effective in cases with highly variable prioritized flows. | |
