Power Allocation for Up/Downlink Transmissions Using Single-carrier Analog Network Coding

(in English) Relay network is a promising technique to achieve high speed and high capacity data transmissions with low transmit power. However, the time division duplex (TDD) relaying has a problem in that the maximum throughput is decreased to half of the direct communication. To solve this problem, recently, analog network coding (ANC) has been attracting a much attention. In most of previous works on ANC, the equal power allocation among the base station (BS), the relay station (RS) and the mobile terminal (MT) was assumed. In this paper, we propose a new power allocation for single-carrier ANC up/downlink transmissions. The proposed scheme allocates the transmit power (among BS, RS and MT) so that the instantaneous signal-to-interference plus noise power ratios (SINRs) after frequency domain equalization of both links are made the same and can be maximized. We evaluate, by computer simulation, the distributions of bit error rate (BER) and the throughput when using proposed power allocation.
