Joint MS&RS/BS hybrid ARQ using frequency-domain equalization for uplink single-carrier cooperative relay transmission

(in English) We consider an uplink single-carrier (SC) transmission and propose a cooperative relaying hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) using frequency-domain equalization (FDE). If a packet sent by an mobile station (MS) has not been correctly decoded at a base station (BS), while correctly done at an relay station (RS), the same packet is jointly retransmitted by MS and RS in order to achieve spatial diversity gain. In this report, we derive a set of optimal/suboptimal packet retransmission/combining FDE weights among MS, RS and BS, based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion under total transmit power constraint of MS and RS. Computer simulation is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed schemes.
