An inquiry into load reduction in 3G core and radio access network with introduction of a traffic offload system

(in English) Recently, since the number of smart phones is increasing, the amount of traffic which passes through a mobile career network is also increasing greatly. Accordingly, improvement of investment efficiency in network facilities and reduction of traffic is needed. The traffic offload technology is one of the typical measures of these problems. However, when applying to a mobile network is taken into consideration, an issue arises about the correspondence to the movement of the user. In this paper, we considered the problems of applying each method of traffic offload to a mobile core network, so that we can propose the utilization of Direct Tunnel which is standardized by 3gpp. On the other hand, when applying to an actual mobile network, Direct Tunnel has some problems such as load of processing and monitoring networks. We proposed an improved system that does not have big influence on radio access network.
