Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The throughput of a user close to the cell edge significantly degrades by the path loss, shadowing loss and fading. The cooperative relay is known as a promising technique to mitigate the above degradation. In the cooperative relay, assigning different modulation schemes to the channels between mobile terminal (MT) and relay station (RS), between RS and base station (BS), and between MT and BS can further increase the throughput. In this paper, we study the adaptive modulation assignment for a 2-time slot single-carrier cooperative DF relay. We evaluate, by computer simulation, the uplink throughput performance using the adaptive modulation assignment.
