In Radio-On-Demand Networks, wireless access points, which are equipped with wake-up receivers operating with low power consumption, are set to a sleeping mode while they wake up and provide wireless access when receiving wake-up signals from wireless stations requesting communications with those APs. In order to achieve ultra-low-power consumption, wake-up receivers adopt non-coherent envelope detection while it is preferred to realize wake-up transmitters by using conventional wireless LAN equipments to minimize the required change in the side of user terminals. To this end, this paper proposes a method to generate wake-up signal by using a wireless LAN transmitter. The simulation results show that performance of wake-up signal reception, such as BER and FER, depends on the modulation, frame length, and receiver sampling rate. With the numerical results, we confirm that 9-bit data transmission is achieved with -90dBm received signal strength and FER less than 10-2. |
