An Effect of Application of Sequential Channel Estimation to LDPC Decoding

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In the decoding process of LDPC code, an accuracy of LLRs (Log Likelihood Ratio) affects strongly to BER (Bit Error Rate). In fading environments,
an error exists necessarily between an actual propagation channel and a channel estimated from the pilot symbol. Since the channel error increases the absolute value of LLRs of error bits, the decoding performance degrades. The paper proposes the LDPC decoding process utilizing sequential channel estimation to suppress the absolute values. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is quantitatively evaluated by means of computer simulation from the viewpoint of the decoding performance.
