Transmit/Receive Schemes Based on Amount of Information at Transmitter/Receiver in Base Station Cooperative MIMO

(in English) In cellular MIMO system, user in a cell center area can achieve high throughput. However, user in a cell edge area cannot, because long-distance propagation attenuates an electric wave and because cell edge user
receives interference from different cells. For supporting large throughput performance in the cell edge user, base station cooperation (BSC) MIMO is attracting much attention. BSC-MIMO makes the signal transmitted from
the adjacent BS change from the interference to the desired signal. BS uses beamforming technique to avoid intra and inter cell interferences. If BS has channel state information (CSI) from each BS to each user, the beamforming
technique is possible to eliminate interference perfectly. However, the discussions above are not valid in practical environments, because it assumes that BS has all users’ CSI in the system. If all users feed back CSI, the system
needs to have a very huge feedback link. Therefore, it is important to reduce the amount of feedback information from the receivers to BS. In this report, we propose the algorithm to improve the cell edge performance with limited
feedback. The main idea of the proposed algorithm is receiving CSI only from a specific user. The proposed algorithm selects user without feedback, and only the selected users feed back CSI. We evaluate the proposing algorithms
using the computer simulation. As the simulation results, we show that the proposed algorithm improve the cell edge MS capacity.
